Volvo Cars posted strong sales in July, with volumes up 14.2 per cent compared with the same period last year. The company sold 62,291 cars during the month, as Europe, the US and China all reported a growth in sales compared with the same period last year.
Volvo Car UK has sustained the sales momentum it enjoyed through 2019 to start the new decade strongly, with 4,107 new car registrations in January – a total boosted by growing customer preference for its recently expanded range of plug-in hybrid models.
Volvo Cars reported global sales of 39,742 cars in February, down 8 per cent compared to the same period last year, as volumes were impacted due to continued sales pressure in China as a result of the coronavirus. The ambition is to recover the lost volumes through global sales throughout the remainder of the year.
Volvo Cars has set a new, sixth consecutive global sales record in 2019, breaking the 700,000 cars sold mark for the first time in its 93-year history. The company recorded sales of 705,452 cars in 2019, an increase of 9.8 per cent compared with 2018, solidly outgrowing the overall market across all regions.
