First, the driver first gets an audible warning together with a flashing light in the windscreen's head-up display. The brakes are prepared in order to reduce the braking system’s response time. If the driver doesn’t respond to the warning and a collision is imminent, the full braking power is applied automatically. The video illustrates the basic principles of Volvo’s auto braking system.
