BIOGRAPHY
Fredrik Arp joined Volvo Car Corporation, as President and CEO, in October 2005. Prior to his current position he held the post of President and Chief Executive Officer of Trelleborg AB from 1999 to 2005.
In the last 24 years of his career Fredrik has held general management positions, including fifteen years as President and Chief Executive Officer of public listed companies. He has been active in international companies in marketing and finance for 30 years, and based outside Scandinavia for seven years of his career. As well as Swedish and English, he speaks fluent French and some German. He has been involved in both consumer goods and durables and industrial products.
In parallel to his operational roles, he has been on the boards of some ten companies in the fields of industry, media and medical technology. At present he is the Chairman of the Board of Thule AB and a member of the Board of Hilding Anders.
Fredrik has a B.A. in Economics from the University of Lund, Sweden, and has a Honorary Doctorate of Economics from the same university. He is married and has four children. In his spare time he likes to engage in sport, as well as read good literature and listen to music.
