500,000 Volvo S60 have now been produced in the Ghent plant

 

 

A milestone, 500,000 Volvo S60 produced, was reached on Wednesday 25 October in the Ghent plant.
The historic S60 came off the line at approximately 3:30 p.m, driven by Mario Van Der Pulst. The car has willow green metallic coating and has been ordered by an American customer.

 

Production of the S60 started in year 2000, and the model is produced at Volvo Car Corporation’s plant in Ghent and in small numbers in CKD assembly factories in Thailand and Malaysia. The table below shows the number of cars produced per year through 2005 in Ghent:

Please note: A total number of 62,157 Volvo S60 were manufactured in 2005. Except from the 61,748 Volvo S60 produced in Ghent were another 192 assembled in Thailand and 217 in Malaysia.
