Volvo C30 tops readers’ choice in “The best cars of 2007”

 

 

Cologne, Germany. The new Volvo C30 continues a series of successes: In the readers’ choice feature “Die besten Autos 2007” (“The best cars of 2007”) of the renowned German trade journal “auto motor und sport” the Swedish manufacturer’s first compact model came way out on top in the lower medium import class.
The new Volvo S80 also achieved an outstanding result, coming second in the upper medium import class. In the competition, which goes back 31 years, readers could choose from 312 current models. More than 100,000 readers chose their favourites in ten vehicle categories.

The new Volvo C30 won 19.1 percent of the votes, putting it in a dominant position in its category. This success is further evidence of the class of Volvo’s new compact car, which has previously won such prestigious awards as the “Das Goldene Lenkrad 2006”, the “Auto Trophy 2006” and the “Design Award 2006”. The new Volvo C30 fascinates with its unmistakable design, sporty driving characteristics and exemplary safety.

With 12.2 percent of readers’ votes, the new Volvo S80 gained second place in its category, outstripping many well-known competing models. The second generation of the Volvo limousine combines a clear language of form with Scandinavian luxury, outstanding driving characteristics and intelligent functions. And the world-leading safety technology of the new Volvo S80 is impressive.
