Daniel Li has extensive experience within the automotive sector, both with OEMs and automotive suppliers. In the late 1990s he was a member of management at ASIMCO Braking System, after which he moved to Chinese manufacturer Brilliance and was involved in the company's partnership with BMW. Between 2006 and 2009 he worked at American automotive conglomerate Cummins, developing the firm's emerging markets strategy in East Asia. He subsequently served as CFO at Chinese machinery manufacturer Liugong before joining Geely in 2011. In 2012 he became a member of the Board of Directors at Volvo Car Corporation.
