Volvo Polestar Racing are new team championship leaders after a superior victory by Tommy Rustad in the second race of the weekend at Knutstorp.
"It was yet another dream race and the car was perfectly setup," said Rustad.
Robert Dahlgren, who returns for the two final STCC (Scandinavian Touring Car Championship) races, had a strong weekend and secured a podium finish.
"We have had great weekend and it feels satisfying to claim the team championship lead together with Rustad," said Dahlgren.
Rustad's and Dahlgren's strong efforts have brought Volvo Polestar Racing into the lead of the team championship with one race weekend left of the 2011 season.
"Tommy and Robert have together performed well this weekend, providing us with excellent conditions ahead of the final race weekend," said Christian Dahl, Team Manager for Volvo Polestar Racing.
Rustad continues to gain points on championship leader Fredrik Ekblom and reduced the points gap to 26 points ahead of the remaining 50 points of the finale at Mantorp Park in two weeks.
"The main goal is to secure the team title for Volvo Polestar Racing. The driver's title is going to be tough, but anything can happen and I won the final race last year at Mantorp," said Rustad.
This year's STCC will be decided at Mantorp Park in two weeks time.
