GamesCom, Europe's largest trade fair for interactive games, opens today in Cologne, Germany, for the first time. More than 400 exhibitors will present the latest within the area of interactive entertainment electronics. Also present is Volvo S60 Concept - the star of Volvo's popular computer racing game "Volvo The Game" - now with over half a million users.
The interest for 'Volvo -The Game' has been overwhelming and after three weeks 250,000 had visited the Volvo S60 Concept web sites and some 7 million hits could be tracked on Google for 'Volvo - The Game' . The 1st prize winner of the first competition is 'Hobi' (Germany).
More than 50,000 downloads in two days of Volvo Cars' and SimBin's recently released PC racer Volvo - The Game. The number of visits on Volvo Cars website www.volvocars.com increased with 50 percent compared to the daily average on the release day and more than 5 million search results in Google for Volvo - The Game also show some of the great interest.
For the first time ever, Volvo Cars is launching a global communication platform. The theme is "There's more to life than a Volvo. That's why you drive one". The aim is clear:"Volvo is to be perceived as a brand that stands out from the crowd, one that is bolder, inspires passion and is at the same time refined," says Michael Persson, global marketing communications director at Volvo Cars.
Volvo - The Game: the exciting new challenge for everyone who enjoys racing games is being released today. It features all of Volvo's racing legends over the years and also introduces a new star: the Volvo S60 Concept. Just download the game, select your favourite Volvo and test your skills on one of the two highly authentic tracks. The game has been developed together with SimBin Studios.
The racing game announced in April by Volvo Cars and game development company SimBin can be played with five racing legends in addition to the new Volvo S60 Concept. They are Volvo models that many people will remember from the STCC and BTCC racing series.
