New Senior Vice President Purchasing appointed at Volvo Car Corporation

 

Bernt Ejbyfeldt has been appointed new Senior Vice President Purchasing at Volvo Cars. He will take up his new position on 1 March 2008.

 

Bernt Ejbyfeldt, 50, has been the CEO of Konstruktions-Bakelit AB for the past five years, a privately owned industrial company and supplier for the car industry, based in southern Sweden, with some 350 employees. He has previously worked all in all 25 years at Volvo Cars.
"It will be really nice and interesting to come back and bring with me the experience from the supplier perspective.", says Mr Ejbyfeldt.

 

Bernt Ejbyfeldt started his career at Volvo Cars as a 20 year old working in the factory. After completing studies in Mechanical Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology in 1982, he became a Design Engineer and later group manager. He further pursued his studies in Stockholm with an Executive Masters in Business Administration at Stockholm School of Economics and started working in the Purchasing department at 1988.

 

He held a number of positions there, among others as Purchasing Director during the first Volvo S80 project (launched in 1998)  and responsible for production Purchasing. For one and a half year he was also responsible in the Ford Pan Brand programme, based in England.
