Volvo Cars introduces luxurious interior package for the model year 2015 line-up

A wider choice of personalisation possibilities is in sharp focus when Volvo Car Group presents the new model year 2015 line-up. Buyers of the Volvo XC60, V70, XC70 and S80 can order a stunning interior upgrade with the new luxurious Inscription package.

Inscription package

“The Inscription package offers consumers a complete luxury upgrade of the interior. It is perfectly in line with our aim to move Volvo towards a more premium brand position,” says Anders H. Gustavsson, Vice President VLM Special Products at Volvo Car Group.

The Inscription package includes Inscription Soft Leather upholstery in several unique colours, beautiful leather covered instrument panel, premium deco inlays, soft leather on extended surfaces such as the back of seats, centre armrest and neck rest, which also features an embroidered Inscription logo, and unique floor mats.

There is also a selection of single Inscription options, such as Inscription Walnut deco inlays and a charcoal headliner (XC60) that creates an exclusive interior ambience.

The exterior Inscription options include three radiant colour alternatives – Crystal White Pearl, Electric Silver and Ember Black (V70, XC70 and S80) as well as 19-inch (V70 and S80) or 20-inch (XC60) ten-spoke wheels.

More special editions

Volvo Car Group is celebrating the upcoming 2014-2015 Volvo Ocean Race, the world’s most gruelling ocean adventure, with a special edition of sailing-inspired cars. The fifth generation Volvo Ocean Race Edition includes the Volvo V40, V40 Cross Country, V60 and XC60. At the same time, Volvo Cars also introduces the V70 and XC70 Edition for customers with a taste for a more dynamic look and handling.

Sensus Connect in all models

From model year 2015, all new Volvo models can be equipped with the updated on-board infotainment and navigation experience Sensus Connect, offering customers a fully connected car. The cloud-based services allow the driver to find and pay for parking from the car, discover new restaurants at the destination, stream favourite music seamlessly and much more. The HERE Location Platform provides connected navigation with 3D maps.

The brand new Connected Service Booking app tells the driver when it’s time to have their car serviced – and suggests an appointment at the Volvo dealership.

Sensus also includes an improved top-of-the-line Premium Sound system by Harman Kardon with a 5x130W amplifier with the next-generation sound enhancement software Dirac Live and up to 12 loudspeakers.

Super-efficient Drive-E engines for all models

From May 2014, all new Volvo models can be ordered with engines from the new Drive-E powertrain family – offering a world-class blend of drivability and low CO2 emissions. The CO2 emissions of the 190 hp Volvo V40 D4 with manual gearbox are down to an outstanding 85 g/km – an offer no competitor is even close to matching.

“The outstanding take-off and responsiveness of the Drive-E engines, combined with a smooth engine sound, will make the cars even more fun to drive, without compromising on modern customers’ demand for superb fuel economy and minimised CO2-emissions,” says Michael Fleiss, Vice President Powertrain at Volvo Car Group.
