Tommy Rustad celebrates first victory of 2011

Tommy Rustad celebrated the first victory of 2011 and climbs back to third in the championship after the STCC (Scandinavian Touring Car Championship) weekend at Jyllandsringen in Denmark.
"The first race was a true dream scenario. I was able to pull up a gap and control the race, a great victory," said Rustad.

Team mate Gabriele Tarquini had two tough races but managed to fight back to ninth in the second race, securing two points, despite being taken off in the first corner.
"It was a tough weekend with a lot of incidents. The car was strong here, just a shame that we couldn't take full advantage of it," said Tarquini.

Rustad was also taken off track in the first corner incident of the second race, but was pleased with the points haul from the first race.
"The plan was to gain points on the leaders and we managed that. I wanted more points of course, but overall a step in the right direction," said Rustad.

Two races remain of the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship 2011 with the penultimate round held at Knutstorp in two weeks. Rustad is trailing championship leader Fredrik Ekblom with 31 points with 100 points left to fight for.
"The possibility is there, it is going to be tough but we are going to put our heads down and fight for it in the final two race weekends," said Rustad.
