Side impact crash test of the all-new V70/XC70
Volvo’s SIPS (Side Impact Protection System) has been further developed with a stronger body structure. A well-matched combination of high-tensile steel of various grades (High Strength Steel, Extra High Strength Steel and Ultra High Strength Steel) makes for a strong yet lightweight side structure that contributes to minimum penetration into the passenger compartment. In this test the V70 had a speed of 25 km/h and the XC70 50 km/h.
