Volvo S60/V60 and XC40 2019 World Car Award Finalists

(ROCKLEIGH, N.J.) The all-new Volvo S60/V60 luxury sedan and wagon, along with the XC40 small luxury SUV, are finalists for the prestigious 2019 World Car Awards. It could mean two in a row for Volvo as the XC60 luxury SUV was named 2018 World Car of the Year.

Announced at the Geneva International Motor Show, the “Top Three In The World” designation includes the S60/V60 in the World Car of the Year category, and the XC40 in the World Car Design of the Year category.

The all-new S60 luxury sedan is the first Volvo car built in the United States at the company’s manufacturing facility in Ridgeville, South Carolina. The S60 and the new V60 feature luxurious interiors, increased levels of space, advanced connectivity and the latest Volvo advanced driver-assistance systems and other safety technology.

The award-winning XC40 completes Volvo’s global line-up of premium SUVs, and is the first car based on the company’s new Compact Modular Architecture (CMA). Both the XC40 and the S60 are available through Care by Volvo, the only national flat-rate car subscription program that includes essentially everything except gas.

The 2019 World Car Awards are determined by a jury of 86 distinguished international automotive journalists. The award winners will be announced on April 17, 2019, during the opening of the New York International Auto Show.
