TORONTO - Sales of Volvo vehicles in July were down from the same month last year as the company reported 812 units sold during the month, down 12.3 per cent from sales of 926 in July 2001.
For seven months of 2002, Volvo Cars of Canada Ltd. has reported sales of 5,807 units, up 4.6 per cent from the 5,554 sold during the same period of last year.
There is consistent demand across the model line, said Volvo Cars of Canada president and chief executive Paul Cummings. "The Volvo V70, V70 Cross Country and S60 models continue to lead sales," said Cummings.
Volvo Cars of Canada is part of the Volvo Car Corporation of Göteborg, Sweden. The company provides marketing, sales, parts, service, technology and training support to the 42 Volvo automobile retailers across the country. The 2002 Volvo automobile line includes the flagship S80 luxury sedan, versatile V70 wagon and rugged Cross Country, exotic C70 coupe and convertible, the sporty S60 sedan and compact S40 and V40 models.
