Volvo announces March sales, fifth consecutive month of growth

Volvo Cars of Canada Corp. today announced vehicle sales reached 604 units in March, a 23 percent increase over the same month in 2009.

A total of 1,411 vehicles have been sold during the first three months of 2010, representing an increase of 23.8 percent over the same period in 2009.

"Volvo retailers saw continued growing interest in a number of our vehicles last month," said Jeff Pugliese, President and CEO of Volvo Cars of Canada.  "Strong sales by the XC90, XC70, XC60 and C30 helped propel the Volvo brand to its fifth consecutive month of year-over-year sales growth. The second quarter has traditionally been the most active period for new vehicle sales in Canada, and we're looking to capitalize on the brand's gathering momentum and growing interest in the all-new S60 to continue the strong sales performance for the remainder of the year."
