RICHMOND HILL, ON (Thursday, February 2nd, 2023) – Volvo Car Canada Ltd. is pleased to report its sales results for January: a total of 737 vehicles were retailed throughout the month, for an increase of 28 percent when compared to January of 2022.
These results were bolstered by demand for Volvo’s exciting lineup of plug-in hybrid and pure electric SUVs, with Recharge powertrains accounting for 48 percent of all new vehicle sales for the brand in Canada.
Of note, the XC90 Recharge, the brand’s flagship plug-in hybrid SUV, received significant praise from the Automobile Journalist’s Association of Canada (AJAC) in January, as it was named the Best Large Premium Utility Vehicle in Canada for 2023.
Volvo Car Canada’s pre-owned division, Certified by Volvo, retailed a total of 241 units for the month, up 21 percent compared with the same month last year.
“We have started the new year on a positive note with strong results across our business,” said Matt Girgis, managing director, Volvo Car Canada Ltd. “We are encouraged by the growing interest in our Recharge lineup, and the number of accolades our award-winning product lineup continues to receive.”
