RICHMOND HILL, ON (October 3, 2022) – Volvo Car Canada Ltd., the leader in safety, has appointed Tara Powadiuk as director, product & technology effective October 1st, 2022.
Currently director, marketing & communications for the Volvo brand in Canada – a position she has held since 2019, Tara will lead the newly formed department of product & technology and will focus on all product, technology, and digital-related strategies for the Canadian market.

Tara holds an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University. Prior to her time at Volvo, Tara spent 14 years at Microsoft, where she led many successful marketing initiatives; from Xbox and Surface, to Cloud Computing and Office365 across Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America and Canada.
Before joining Microsoft, Tara encouraged growing Asia Pacific companies to choose the United Kingdom as the ideal location to open a European headquarters. Tara started her career developing insightful marketing campaigns for consumer brands like Walt Disney and Procter & Gamble while working at top agencies including Leo Burnett and MacLaren McCann.
