RICHMOND HILL, ON (Wednesday, May 4, 2022) – Volvo Car Canada Ltd. is pleased to report its sales results for April: a total of 1,048 vehicles were retailed throughout the month, for an increase of 1.5 percent when compared to April of 2021. Year-to-date, the company has sold a total of 3,201 vehicles in Canada, representing an increase of 2.2 percent when compared to the first four months of 2021.
Despite continued supply constraints and other industry challenges, demand for Volvo’s exciting lineup of plug-in hybrids and pure electrics remained strong in April, with the company’s Recharge models accounting for 32 percent of all new vehicle sales for the brand in Canada.
Certified by Volvo, Volvo Car Canada’s pre-owned division, retailed a total of 241 units for the month, representing a decrease of 22 percent when compared to April of last year.
“Amongst ongoing pressures across the industry, we have started the second quarter on an electrified high note.” said Matt Girgis, managing director, Volvo Car Canada Ltd. “Sustained interest in our Recharge vehicles is encouraging to see, and I am hopeful this trend will continue throughout the remainder of this year.”
