TORONTO (Aug. 16, 2005) – Paul Cummings, president and chief executive officer of Volvo Cars of Canada Ltd. and Volvo Auto de Mexico, will leave the company at the end of August to pursue new career opportunities, the companies announced today.
Cummings has been president of the Canadian company since January, 2001 and head of the Volvo car operations in Mexico since March, 2003. Replacements will be named in the near future.
Cummings began his Volvo career in 1993 as a business manger at Volvo Canada, responsible for the viability of the Volvo retailer network. In 1995, he became the national market development manager. Prior to his appointment at Volvo Canada, he was the director of network development for Volvo Cars of North America in Rockleigh, N.J.
Volvo Cars of Canada Ltd. is part of the Volvo Car Corporation of Göteborg, Sweden. The company provides marketing, sales, parts, service, technology and training support to the 43 Volvo automobile retailers across the country.
