Volvo Car Canada Ltd. Reports June Sales Results

RICHMOND HILL, ON (Friday, July 2, 2021) – Volvo Car Canada Ltd. is pleased to report a strong June sales result: a total of 1,002 vehicles were sold throughout the month, for an increase of 20.9 percent over June of 2020. For the first two quarters of the year, the company delivered a total of 5,143 units, an increase of 66.7 percent when compared to the same period last year.

June marked the 12th consecutive month of year-over-year growth for Volvo in Canada. These results were bolstered by continued demand for the brand’s electrified vehicles, with Recharge powertrains accounting for 21 percent of all new vehicle sales in the month of June.

Despite the uniquely challenging circumstances of the pandemic, the Certified by Volvo business delivered a record performance, and continued to sustain its strong run of momentum throughout the year. Retailing 333 units for the month, Certified by Volvo sales increased by 5 percent when compared to June of 2020.

“Our June results have left us in a strong position as we head into the second half of the year,” said Matt Girgis, Managing Director of Volvo Car Canada Ltd. “With twelve consecutive months of growth, a best-ever month of Certified by Volvo sales, and an exciting lineup of plug-in hybrid and pure electric vehicles that continue to resonate with our customers, we’ve got a lot to look forward to as we enter the third quarter.”
