TORONTO (November 11, 2004) – Volvo Cars of Canada Ltd. (VCCL) has awarded two Canadians the vacation of a lifetime, the company announced today.

The vacation winners participated in the “Four Friends” contest, celebrating the launch of the Volvo S40 and V50. The contest asked each registrant to provide the names and e-mail addresses of three friends who would accompany them on the “all expenses paid” trip.

The two winners were chosen at random from thousands of entries. When asked where they would like to go on their “all expenses paid” vacation, both winners chose to travel to Tuscany, Italy over a spa retreat in Arizona, an extreme outback adventure in Australia and golfing in Pebble Beach.

Speaking of golf, the four winners of the Canadian Volvo Golf Challenge flew at the end of October to Sotegrande, Spain and represented their home country at the Volvo World Amateurs. The amateur golf tournament was held October 27-31 and in conjunction with the Volvo Masters – the coveted European PGA stop featuring some of Europe’s top-ranked golfers. The Canadian delegation consisted of players who scored highest in the national tournament held in September.

With 60 amateur golfers from around the world, the overall winner was Wattana Juttuporn hailing from Thailand and scoring at total of 75 points. Canada’s representatives performed very well, with Christian Babineau finishing ninth with 63 points. Silvio Salituro, Louis Richard and Frank Triolo finished 19, 32 and 52, respectively.
