BIOGRAPHY

After obtaining an MSc in Vehicle Engineering and a PhD in Fluid Mechanics from the renowned Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Mårten Levenstam joined Volvo Cars in 2000 as a mathematical engineer within the company’s Safety Centre. He stayed with the Volvo Cars Safety Centre until 2007, during which period he was instrumental in the development of several new safety systems and technologies. Since 2007 he has been working with strategy questions, first in the area of environment and later in the company’s product planning department. Most recently he was Vice President for overall product strategy at Volvo Cars. Dr Levenstam is married and has three children.
