• T5 receives a new 2.4-litre (replacing 2.3-litre) 5-cylinder turbocharged engine delivering 257 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque (up 10 horsepower and 15 lb.-ft.)
• New T5 turbocharger derived from high performance R vehicles
• T5 adds variable intake valve timing to variable exhaust valve timing
• Optional 6-speed manual transmission for T5
• New electronic controls for 5-speed automatic with Geartronic on T5 for faster gear changes
• T5 equipped with larger brake discs
• New second-generation Four-C system available on T5 (previously only on S80, S60 R, V70 R)

Exterior highlights:

• New headlights with clear plastic lenses and high-pressure washers (replacing wipers)
• Clear lens taillights
• New colour-coordinated bumpers, door and lower sill mouldings
• New bumper design with changeable corner protection mouldings with chrome inlays
• New “waterfall” shaped grill
• New flat-blade windshield wipers
• Water-repellent coating to side mirrors (side windows optional)
