Volvo Cars of Canada Corp. today announced vehicle sales reached 527 units in August, a 16.3 percent increase over the same month last year. August marked the fourth month in 2009 for sales increases year-over-year.
Year-to-date, Volvo Canada sold 4,545 units, off 5.7 percent from the first eight months of 2008.
"The company saw success with its XC-range of vehicles in August," said Jeff Pugliese, President and CEO of Volvo Canada. "The new XC60 continues to gain traction in the market and was the most popular vehicle in the Volvo line-up last month, followed by the XC90 and the XC70. Looking forward, the company's focus will soon switch to the 2010 model year as stock of 2009 vehicles begins to run out."
