Big car safety in compact form

Volvo Cars has been dedicated to safety research since its founding in 1927. In developing the protective, preventive and personal security systems in its vehicles, the company's engineers utilize a combination of research conducted at more than 35,000 real-world collisions involving 50,000 occupants, virtual crash tests and tests conducted at the Volvo Cars Safety Centre in Sweden.

Safety, regardless of the trim chosen, remains paramount in the C30. A long list of systems include a full complement of airbags, the unique Volvo Whiplash Protection System and a body structure composed of four kinds of steel to distribute collision energy around the passenger compartment. To help avoid a collision, the C30 includes a Dynamic Stability and Traction Control System and braking aids such as ABS and Electronic Brake Force Distribution.
