Volvo Cars of Canada president to expand role to include Mexico

IRVINE, California - Vic Doolan, president and chief executive officer of Volvo Cars of North America has announced that Paul Cummings, president and chief executive officer of Volvo Cars of Canada Ltd., will expand his responsibilities to include Mexico and assume the role of president and CEO of Volvo Cars in both Canada and Mexico. His appointment will be effective March 1, 2003.

 

Cummings has almost 10 years of experience with the Volvo Car Corporation. He joined the organization in Canada as a business manager and has held positions of increasing responsibility in Canada and the United States, including national market development manager and national sales manager for Canada and director, network development for Volvo Cars of North America in the U.S. He was appointed president and chief executive officer of Volvo Cars of Canada Ltd. In January 2001. In his expanded role, he will continue to be headquartered in the Volvo Cars of Canada head office in Toronto.

 

Volvo Cars of Canada is part of the Volvo Car Corporation of Göteborg, Sweden. The company provides marketing, sales, parts, service, technology and training support to the 42 Volvo automobile retailers across the country. The 2003 Volvo vehicle line includes the flagship S80 luxury sedan, versatile V70 wagon and rugged V70 XC (Cross Country), exotic C70 convertible, the sporty S60 sedan, compact S40 and V40, and the award-winning new Volvo XC90 sport utility vehicle, described as "the next generation SUV."
