Halo 3 players can win unique Volvo C30

For immediate release

TORONTO (October 23, 2007) - In connection with its largest game launch in company history, Xbox Canada, a division of Microsoft Canada Co., is offering online Halo 3 players the opportunity to win a 2007 Volvo C30 T5.  The "33 Days of Halo 3" contest launched September 25, will conclude October 27 and is exclusive to the Xbox 360 game console.

The C30 T5, equipped with a 218-horsepower turbocharged engine, will be fully equipped with Halo 3 inspired decals to link it to the game.  The C30 is one of three prizes awarded to players who complete three different tasks.

To win the car, players must sign in to Xbox Live - an online community where gamers can play with or against each other - and download the "Red 33" gamer pic onto their Xbox 360 console to register to win the C30.  Once registered, the player must complete 33 multiplayer games before the end of the contest to qualify for the prize.

All prizes will be randomly awarded to gamers who download the appropriate pic and complete the task.

"Canadian gamers have been waiting since 2004 for the conclusion to one of the top-selling video game franchises in history and the response from gamers has been overwhelming," said Ryan Bidan, Product Manager - Games, Xbox Canada. "In conjunction with the launch of Halo 3, we're thrilled to offer this Canadian exclusive contest on Xbox LIVE by giving gamers the chance to win a one-of-a-kind Halo 3 branded Volvo C30."

Bidan adds the connection between Halo and Volvo Canada isn't as strange as it may seem.  He says the typical Xbox and Halo player is urban, male, averaging 30 years of age.

Steve Blyth, President and CEO of Volvo Cars of Canada Corp., finds those demographics to be extremely similar to the target C30 customer.  "The C30 is an urban car for young, tech-savvy individuals," he said.  "The C30 was designed to extend the Volvo vehicle line-up into new territory for the company and this kind of promotion helps us reach a demographic we don't normally speak to."
