IRVINE, Calif. (May 23, 2007) - Can't wait another minute for Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End? Craving the chance to get in on some real pirate action? Check out www.volvocanada.com/thehunt, Volvo Car Corporation's global online hunt to find real-life treasure - a sunken chest filled with $50,000 in gold and a key to a new Volvo XC90 luxury SUV. The Hunt is a promotion celebrating Disney's third installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, storming theaters this Friday, May 25.

To join The Hunt, participants 18 and older must visit a Volvo retailer to pick up a special pirate chart then register at www.volvocanada.com/thehunt any time between now and May 29. Winners will only be eligible if they can produce the original pirate chart upon conclusion of The Hunt.

"Time is running out! Only six days remain to join the hottest treasure hunt of the summer - but there's still time to catch up," said Linda Gangeri, national advertising manager for Volvo Cars of North America. "Let the search for sunken treasure quench your thirst for pirate adventure before Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End hits theaters. Images of Captain Jack Sparrow and gold doubloons will be dancing in your head before you even pass the box office. Savvy?"

Once registered online, hunters set sail on a virtual high seas adventure, visiting exotic locations around the world and receiving clues, as they solve a series of challenging and fun online puzzles. The puzzles are released at timed intervals throughout The Hunt to allow participants joining late to catch up. On June 2, the first person from each of the 22 participating markets to finish the online hunt will compete against one another in one final exciting online challenge.

The first of those 22 individuals to solve the final puzzle will be named the winner and will receive a trip to the burial location to retrieve the chest filled with $50,000 in gold and a key to a new Volvo XC90 luxury SUV.

In addition to Canada, the United States, Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Norway, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand and the United Kingdom are participating in The Hunt.
