Volvo Cars stellt sich für die elektrifizierte Zukunft auf: Der schwedische Premium-Automobilhersteller investiert in den kommenden Jahren insgesamt zehn Milliarden Schwedische Kronen (rund 960 Millionen Euro) in sein Stammwerk Torslanda. Neue sowie nachhaltigere Technologien und Fertigungsprozesse machen die Produktionsstätte fit für die nächste Generation von Elektroautos. Eine der wichtigsten Neuerungen ist das sogenannte Mega-Casting, das Volvo als einer der ersten Automobilhersteller umsetzt: Es ermöglicht die innovative Fertigung von Aluminium-Karosserieteilen für die nächste Generation der Volvo Elektroautos.
